SF’S BEST NEW RESTAURANTS OF 2019
“Palette Tea House (900 North Point Street) is from the same folks behind Koi Palace and Dragon Beaux, and brings serious dim sum cred to a 6,500 square foot space inside Ghirardelli Square. Expect upscale Chinese cuisine, as Instagrammable a presentation as one can imagine, and cocktails from SF bar vet Carlos Yturria (The Treasury, White Cap).”
#5 IN SAN FRANCISCO’S BEST NEW RESTAURANTS OF 2019
“They make dim sum that’s as creative and fun to eat as it is delicious, all while giving us a whole new reason to brave the tourists in San Francisco’s chocolate center. The lobster dumplings with pipettes of butter to inject into each piece are tender and juicy. Their taro puffs are shaped like swans, and the multicolored soup dumplings are perfect and never leak. Even in a city with so many great dim sum places, Palette Tea House stands above the rest.”
TOP 88 RESTAURANTS IN 2020
“ The ambitious dim sum restaurant has been offering takeout and delivery, including frozen dumplings and noodle and bao kits. On the fancier end of the dim sum spectrum, Palette, with its amiable service and high-end ingredient highlights, is ideal for brunch blowouts.”
5 CHEFS FROM PALETTE SHARE THEIR SPECIALTIES
“Since Willy and Ronnie Ng opened Palette Tea House’s doors just over a year ago at the iconic Ghirardelli Square, it has seen a steady and growing base of customers. Many were built-in fans acquired from dim sum restaurants Koi Palace (koipalace.com) and Dragon Beaux (dragonbeaux.com), also founded by the Ng brothers. At Palette, followers of their expanding dumpling dynasty were able to find familiar dishes, such as the xiao long bao (from its classic pork soup dumpling to a truffle and oxtail soup dumpling). But it was clear Palette was its own entity and had its own unique character.”
